There are a lot of people out there promising to show you how to make real money online.
They confront you in your email inbox, while you are trying to relax and watch some late night tv and even through your radio on your way to that job that you are probably tired of.
But, how do you weed through the crap and find the successful ways to make money online?
Should you start filling out surveys and get paid for them?
How about affiliate marketing?
How about starting your own blog?
Why not create your own product and put it on a site such as Clickbank?
Some of these are good ideas and some are not. To complicate things even more some may work well for you but not for others…
I think you see where I am going. This is the reason many people fail at making money online. They try something that they see working for others, but when they don’t see the same results themselves they quickly give up.
Making money online is not simple…but is possible. You have to put in work if you want to succeed. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it and the freeways would actually be “free” because everyone would be sitting in their pajamas working from home.
But it’s not!
Here are some steps I suggest you take if you are just starting out.
- Find your passion – Find something that interests you…it’s going to be a lot easier to stick with something through the hard times if you enjoy it. Now you can expand to other fields later once you have all the techniques down that it takes to run an online business. But for now, focus on something that you enjoy.
- Become and Internet Tourist – Get out there and take a look around. Search for sites on Google that deal with your passion. What are those sites about? What are they selling? How long have they been around?
- Become a student – Read, read and read some more. Learn the basics of Internet Marketing. Read up on keyword research, niche marketing, traffic generation, lead generation and autoresponders. Learn what an affiliate is. What are those that are successful online using to make their money? What do they sell? What do they promote?
In the early stages you want to keep your eyes and ears open. Take notes and absorb what you see.
You don’t need to reinvent the wheel to make real money online. You need to study those that are already making a living online. You then need to use some of their techniques and add your own twist….a twist that makes it work for you.
